Dodging Umbrellas
She fell in soaking blankets, bathing smoothly layered rocks
And pooled upon the sidewalk, in tiny splashing drops
She poured on passing walkers, and wet they?re warming coats
Chimed upon the rooftops in flat and toneless notes
The people frowned in worry, aiming high up at the clouds
And she poured down in they?re eyes, wet the sight of staring crowds
She fell down on my shoulders, relieved the anguish as she came
And left me cleansed and free, to dodge umbrellas in the rain
